I memorize every line

Despite the wet; the all consuming, all-dampening, skin-adhering, never-ending rain, the type that is only found in the four-seasons-in-one-day country that we inhabit; it's warm.

I came out of the car, ready to dash quickly to the supermarket, but found myself smiling, as I stood, getting ever more soggy, the heat was pleasurable to my feet.   My toes wrinkled in pleasure in the mix of puddle and raindrops.

As it does, the smell of the seaside is weighed down by the cloud and water... and the heady scent of seaweed and erm, whatever that other smell of the seaside is was everywhere.

I drove along the front as is my way, and parked up beside the sopping wet pavilion on the South Beach.  The street lamps were just coming on, and the light reflecting on the puddles took me back to summer evenings when I was much younger when it mattered not a jot if it was raining or not, we would sit on that beach til it got so dark we couldn't justify it any longer.... and bimble home in the damp with the lights coming on at our heels.
