A Day Worth Recording

By Cheeseminer

Tewkesbury

Had a Holi-day today, well, after posting off the Business Plan and Spreadsheet Of Fortune we did.

The four of us (J and Ellis are here currently) went on a river cruise from Upton to Tewkesbury and back.  It was OK if cool on the way there, but a Bit Moist wandering round the town and on the way back.

Thus we spent a fair time at the abbey.  It has a ceiling that makes our ceiling's ornate Regency dooblings seem like woodchip; some radical colours too. (Extra pic).

However, the carpenter in me was drawn to the beautifully simple quarter-circular storage unit for copes (ornate shoulder-wrapp'y things for bishops) and it's incised calligraphy.

Quite pleased how this shot came out - the blip is uncropped and unprocessed.
