Croft 18.
..I'm exhausted. Got G up early for her Yoga class, which means I get down the croft earlier. Took the tractor down again with some plug plants of Purple sprouting brocolli (early and late flowering), some white brocolli, two varieties of winter cauliflower, and some winter cabbage. Raked over the patch that had onions in (and got another three buckets of stones), and planted out. Then did some weeding, before the midges got too bad, and took Tans down the beach.
Back up to the house around 2:30 for a quick bite, and then got A's ATV and topper out to mow I's croft. I works in China, so I do a few jobs for him.. The route down is pretty steep, and turns 90 degrees halfway down to the gate. Not for the faint hearted. Did all of the left side down to the bog at the bottom, and then tried on the right. Got over the bank near the gate, and mowed round to the fence. That was when I found the ditch!! Luckily had two boards with me and was able to make a bridge to get out OK. Then tried getting back up the track, but it was too steep, so had to reverse back down, and go back down to the bottom where there is another gateway. A pretty boggy gateway..
A triple load of logs turned up while I was planting this morning, so got those put away in the shed too, and almost before it rained.. Do the cabbages good.
I'm hoping he deer will feel "exposed" crossing this mowed patch. They're doing quite a bit of damage on the croft now. Lost over ten cabbages, and they've found a liking for Oca. They're attacking A's crops too, may have to do something more serious soon..
