Longleat

Today, a rain-soaked visit to Longleat.  A truly beautiful Elizabethan stately pile, stuffed to the gills with gorgeous treasures and some newer, (questionable) art contributed by the eccentric and colourful seventh Marquess of Bath. (See extra photo).

After touring the house, we drove through the safari park and admired all sorts of soaking wet wildlife sulking in the sodden undergrowth.  Despite the weather, we had a wonderful time.  Now we are ensconced in the cozy Lamb Hotel in Hindon, Wiltshire.  Tomorrow, Devon beckons.
