Downton Abbey

As I mentioned in yesterday's post, we had to while away the time between landing at Heathrow this morning, and checking in to our lovely Hampshire hotel this afternoon, so we decided to drive to Highclere Castle for a visit.

Unfortunately Lady Mary was upstairs with a headache, Carson was far too busy decanting the claret, Lord and Lady Grantham were in London for the day, and Lady Edith was wringing her hankie and looking wanly out an upstairs window, so we didn't have the opportunity to hobnob with the "Crawley Crowd!"  We did really enjoy seeing inside the house, and wandering the stunning grounds though -- what a treat!

The extra photo shows some of Highclere's awesome collection of chimney pots.
