Where are those two!!
Well there's no way we're going to get lost in the wilderness. We made a very wise investment today and one I hope we never, ever have to use to its full potential!! My neighbour Adrian had told me about this amazing device called a SpotGen3. It is essentially a device which works as a satellite GPS messenger and can be a critical, life-saving line of communication when you travel beyond the boundaries of mobile coverage.
CCN and I will be heading off to Western Australia in the very near future and although we're not going to outback, outback, we will be travelling in areas that have little or no mobile or internet reception. We felt that it would be a good investment to know that in the case of an emergency we could get a message to the outside world! This amazing device also will allow us to let our family know where we are by sending a pre-programmed message with our GPS location. It will automatically send and save our GPS location and allow contacts to track our progress using Google Maps. How amazing is that. If in fact we were involved in a major SOS situation the device sends an SOS with the GPS location to the Emergency Rescue Co-ordination Centre who can then alert the appropriate authorities.
My neighbour is right into extreme sport such as paragliding and rock climbing and he wouldn't be without one onboard. He road a mountain bike across the Simpson Desert once. Now I can tell you that we won't be doing any of that but it will be quite a comfort to have it on board "MinoMo", our Trakka Motorhome.
Now for the exciting reveal. I have added two extras tonight. It's a close up of my Tiny Tuesday Mystery Macro of yesterday and it's the log of wood that I used as the subject. I've also added a shot of the wonderful woodpile that had appeared when we arrived home from Bundaberg on Saturday. We had commissioned a very, very strong young bloke to come out and chainsaw and split quite a few trees that need tidying up. The end result was a massive pile of custom split timber which will be seasoned nicely by next winter. There are about 8 more layers behind this lot, so you can imagine how happy we are. Dominic did a fantastic job and I have to say woodchopping runs in his veins. His cousin Brad recently won the World Championship of woodchopping overseas. Wow I'm impressed.
So thanks to everyone for your valiant effort to guess my Mystery Macro and I have to give gold stars to Donna Wanna and Subjunctive who both guessed that it was bark. It was a lot of fun looking at everyones entries and thanks again to osuzanna for hosting the challenge this week. I can't wait to scroll through the entries again to see the big reveals.
