The Big Birthday

The day dawned...... actually the HG and I were up at 5.30am to put up the birthday banner and balloons....... and I caught the stunning sunrise!

The Birthday Girl eventually appeared, and she requested that we (she, sisters and husbands) had a trip to Berwick on Tweed and walked the walls.   So we did!  The young ones meanwhile went to Bamburgh Castle and the beach, great for the kids.

We started off at Berwick by having a lovely crab sandwich lunch in a lovely wee place, and then we walked the walls..... slowly...... taking in all the information and talking to locals.  It was really nice.

Then we went to M&S ........ H did lots of cooking for the week, but she said that for her birthday she wanted a M&S feast, so we had a quick coffee then shopped for all the food to make a buffet meal when we got home.  It was great.

And then the birthday cake, which was made by the girls with the two wee boys helping.  It was large water melons (two because they couldn't get one big enough) decorated with kiwi fruit, blueberries, pineapple, and with chocolate strawberries around.  It looked absolutely gorgeous and tasted devine!   

When it got dark we had sparklers out on the deck, and had great fun with them.  Have added a couple of extra photos

What a day!  What a girl!

And the weather is still hot and sunny!
