Our village

Walked down to church this morning. This view is on the lane behind our house just entering the village. The house on the left always has pretty pots and hanging baskets so I've taken quite a few photos of the same few houses at the bottom of the hill before. So may even have blipped this view before.

Surprised to see a congregation of about 40 in Millbrook church today. Normally it's less than 20 and our village church is sadly scheduled to close soon due to dwindling numbers. We later found out the reason for the large congregation. Last week the church in the adjoining village of St John, had an additional "visitor" when a part of the roof fell in during the Sunday service and so that church has had to be closed until it's been checked out and repaired. Maybe that might mean our church will get a reprieve for the time being.
