Desperately seeking

Leighton Moss

What a lovely morning!  We were up at 6 am and out of the caravan by 6.30 am. Our destination? Leighton Moss RSPB Nature Reserve.again, to see the otters!

There was no one in the public hide when we went in so we had this view all to ourselves for a few minutes. Down in the Lower Hide we were joined by picnickers. That made me wish I'd had more for breakfast. So up to the Visitors Centre for coffee and scones.

Managed to buy something special for my Woodland Garden project from our campsite owner. Great!

Before lunch we followed that 3 mile walk with a walk around Hawes Water. No, not Haweswater, Hawes Water, Lancashire's biggest lake, a 2 mile walk.

Getting back to the campsite we joined a coffee morning/birthday party where, by chance, we sat next to a photographer so we had a nice chat about how our businesses were going.

After lunch we set off for Jenny Brown's Point but along the path I recalled a steep return journey so we did an about turn. After tea we had a drive to Arnside to watch the sun setting.

9.30 pm: Having a nice cosy time in the caravan with a whisky and lemonade. Night, night!

Oh, don't go! I've added an extra photo to show my best otter shot!
