Phlox of phlowers

Today has been a rest day after the exertions of yesterday.....my back was still giving me some stick this morning! Well, other than doing some washing and helping our lodgers move their belongings back to their own house, that is :-0

We had a leisurely lunch.......whilst looking out at the heavy grey skies. Nothing like what was forecast! Happy to say the weather did improve as the afternoon wore on, quite sunny and warm, out of the breeze.

We have three large clumps of these pale pink phlox in the garden. This clump sits beneath our smoke bush and looked rather lovely in the dappled sunlight.

I've been dabbling in the kitchen this afternoon too......made two jars of plum jam, with ginger and orange zest. Had a bash at replicating a meal we had out a couple of months back, sea trout with capers and crayfish in nutty brown butter, wilted spinach on a bed of homegrown potatoes......turned out rather well ;-) clean plats is always a good sign!

First night on our own at home for six weeks, so we are settling down to watch a movie now. Enjoy your weekend, whatever you're doing. :-)
