Proud Weegie

Pollenca

Moving day.  Today we had to pack up our belongings from the lovely apartment overlooking the mountains ans shift to the lodgings we had originally booked next door.  Another couple of pools to explore and plenty of empty sunbeds, but a smaller apartment, and not such a nice view - however, free wifi (albeit not enough signal to post a blip!).

A day spent around the pool under thunderclouds which produced nothing more than a bit of welcome shade.

Mr S not too impressed, he doesn't like heat, or reading, or sitting about, he headed off for some exploring on his own, with his backpack and a bottle of water.

This evening's entertainment was a trip to nearby Polenca, a stunning town, with an equally impressive Cathedral.  It boasts 365 steps to the top of Calvary overlooking the bay, which attracts pilgrims who want to follow the stations of the cross to the top.  I suggested this route to the girls, but after a week in Lourdes, No 2 has had her fill of holy water, novenas, ans pilgrimages.  Maybe next week?

Some cracking wee squares to explore, all have  their own special appeal.  Restaurants, Cafes, and live music.  We didn't stay for the music as Mr S was panicking that we were running out of supplied (beer!) and the local Eroski supermarkets shut at ten.

Back to base camp, and yes, it was noisy.  Miss our quiet mountain views, we will just have to stay out later tomorrow night.
