Proper Cumbrian Weather

Tip No.2 Whinlatter.
When its raining, its easier to find free parking. But then it turns out that the charges are per hour so, if you run up and down Whinlatter (Fell running is still babysteps for me) somewhat sharpish, you can be down in well under an hour. so the hour charge can be forgiven.
It was very wet and great fun, and I had it all to myself.
The photo above is on the trail just before the open fellside. The extra photo is a retrospective view from Wainwrights' Top to the true summit which is 8m higher.
