Trio
The cemetery was busy with creatures this morning. Raspberry smelled something which turned out to be the musky scent of a young dear, peering through the same opening where the crows are visible in my blip today. The deer left, then returned and I saw her from the bedroom window. She scattered immediately at the sound of my voice, leaving just her strong perfume. We walked out to the cemetery, but she was long gone, down the wooded bluff. The tide was running low. The deep channel in the middle of the river was sparkling in places, with bobbing sea birds and lobster buoys.
A local lobsterman was checking his traps. I watched through my lens, the process of hauling, emptying, rebating the traps, second nature to locals born and bred to the work of lobster boats. A toss and splash then he swiftly moved his craft on to the next buoy and sunken trap.
For the Record,
This day came in crystal clear with warm sun
All hands healthy
The extra photos are from the tiny original window in what was once Great Grandpa Will's and Great Aunt Abbie's office. Town Clerk and Notary Public business was conducted there for years. All of the other windows in the house have been replaced and the space now houses our washer and dryer, but we all still call it the office.I adore the window and the old apothecary jar probably from Will's store holding Abbie's thread.
