The Model

My friend Elif is a fashion designer and she invited me along to a photo shoot for her new Autumn and Winter collection, and asked me to take some 'behind the scene' photos.  So I took my camera as well as Alan's Fuji X10 which I've really enjoyed using - I think you've lost your camera now Alan!

The theme was based around horses, and after the models had their hair and make up done in Elif's shop, we were due to go to the local stables to use two horses of one of the models.  Unfortunately we had so much rain so Lynda, the professional photographer, went up to the stables and came back to say that it wasn't possible.  The fields and the road up to the stables were flooded and the light in the barn wasn't good enough.

So it was decided that the shoot would take place in Lynda's studio and she headed off to get everything ready.  Once the models were ready we loaded everything into the back of Elif's car and set off, but Lynda called Elif to say that she'd nipped into an antique shop near her studio and the guy had agreed that they could do the shoot in his shop.  It was the perfect backdrop and he has a lot of French antiques, and the lighting was perfect.  So although it was a shame the original plan had to be cancelled, this turned out to be a very good alternative.

I can't post any photos of the shoot obviously, but this one is of Sophie getting ready, and was taken with Fuji. Although I've not met Sophie before, she's the daughter of a friend of a friend and is a professional model.  I've attached a couple of other pics in my extras if you want to have a look.

Once the shoot was finished we all had lunch in Arthur's cafe which adjoins the antique shop, and then Elif dropped me off at home.  Then tonight I met up with my good friends Chrissy, Alison & Barbs for a girly night out in Rottingdean - we had lots of giggles and it was great to see them!
