England Belongs To Me

He's only gone and done it! Yes, folks, Roy Hodgson has successfully made England as nightmarishly stressful to watch as the Albion. But in amongst the dicy defending and fragile one-goal leads is a core of pride and teamwork that I haven't seen in an England side at a tournament in at least ten years. Tonight's match, for all its palpitating horror moments, put some meaning back into a national team that many of us had long given up hope on.

Of course, experience tells me it won't last very long, so we may as well enjoy it here and now. Thank you, England. Thank you for not being as bad as we thought you might be, just this once.
