Stamen gladiolus

For her birthday this year wife's sister bought her some gladiolus bulbs/corms. These were planted in a tub and the spikes are growing well. There are now two spikes in bloom (one each of white and blue). Today's blip is a close-up of the stamens of one of the blue blooms.
This afternoon we rook a trip to Emmaus to deliver goods for them to sell in the shops. Outside the entrance to one of the buildings is a quote by Abbe Pierre. This is my extra for today.
