Quite a surprise

When I came to switch my computer on this morning there was a distinct outline of a "bug" on the other side of my opaque blind at the window. Being a bit of a coward I didn't wish to disturb said bug so I went outside, camera in hand to investigate. Today's blip is what I saw. Looking on Google I think it's a Horse Fly (but I'm quite prepared to be told otherwise). Wife was all for using squash technique to get rid - I opened the windows and after a short time of encouragement it flew off!
