At the bottom of the sea

A cousin of mine came down from London today to meet up for lunch at Gunwharf Quays in Portsmouth.  I had  hoped for a nice sunny day for her visit but sadly it was not to be.  Still we had a nice long chat and a good meal at Loch Fyne.   Today's picture was taken as we waited by the Harbour wall for her train to arrive.   The tide was out and down below, amongst the seaweed, I saw this abandoned bicycle and umbrella.   They were not alone - I also saw 3 more bicycles and a supermarket trolley.   Doesn't it make you despair of the human race.
