Kirianna - Cancer survivor

We had a visit this afternoon from our friend Chris, who looks after Heatherbelle's retirement village and her granddaughter Kirianna, who spent most of the third year of her life in Auckland's Starship Children's hospital fighting a huge battle with a brain tumour. It was a tough time for the family, with her Mum Anna, spending all the time at the hospital and her husband, a teacher, at home looking after the older two children.

There has been a real miracle with Kirianna who is about to turn 5 and is now having clear tests for her cancer. She is the most delightful wee girl, always smiling and is surrounded by a very loving extended family.

And shortly she will have a new baby brother, great excitement for the whole family.

Kirianna was very happy for me to take her photo, I really wanted to share this special story.
