Lunch with Hadrian

The weather gods were smiling as we meandered a short route along Hadrian's Wall to a welcoming hostelry (where Sam, my sister in the middle, who is 7 and a half months pregnant) waited while Mel and I slogged the way back to the car on a 'shortcut' with Sam's other half Joss.

Lovely day all told, got back to their place to meet their new chickens, and then down to the Anglers' Arms in the next village down the road for a massive dinner. I don't know what really drew me to the first mixed grill I've had in years, but the protein hit was welcome...

Extra pic is a Peacock Butterfly Caterpillar.
