The North

Because it was Sunday we could venture to The North ( as it is described on the road signs) past Port Louis to some very different beaches. On every other day the traffic would be so horrific it is not worth the time. We found this fabulous beach, filled with Mauritians in big groups of friends and family, with giant picnics, either hanging out under the shade of the trees or in big chatting groups standing in the sea. The sand was very soft and golden, different from the sharper crushed coral we have on more local beaches. The boys dedicated the afternoon to building huge structures, we all swam and floated in the sea, a lovely day.

Completely knackered by the time we got home, just time for Will to have a quick dip in the pool ( which he far prefers to the sea) with the setting sun. Quick meal in the bar and an early night. And all of a sudden we are at the midpoint now of this amazing holiday. I have tried to do some extra shots of today but it's just not working, it will have to wait until I get to a proper computer.
