Poppies .

All around the area there are fields a growing with crops of barley and wheat.They have grown in leaps and bounds with all the rain lately ,but the poppies mixed in have caught my eye as I drove past .Finally today I had the chance to stop and take some photos , although only with my phone ..
I took the pictures close to Placenoit which is where parts of the Battle of Waterloo took place this weekend in 1815 .The poppies seem to me to be an appropriate tribute to the many lives lost on the battlefields.
