Skipping Along

A lovely day for a wander though some grassy wildflower meadows - which is exactly what I did today with members of my local Natural History Society. It was supposed to be a botanical outing but we had an invertebrate expert and a lichenologist with us, and I was just delighting in everything that we found, be it plant, insect, reptile (we saw a lizard) or amphibian (frog). There were good numbers of butterflies around once again, and I was pleased to get a photo of a Comma - I've seen very few so far this year, but when it came down to it, I liked the sunlight on this Small Skipper.
