Men at Work

A dredger was waiting for Lock 28 to fill (highest of the Clobberhill flight of locks half a mile from Netherton) to travel further east on the Forth and Clyde Canal. I liked this shot of the workers from Scottish Canals watching the water rise. I thought this must be a great job for men who love the outdoor life. I then thought why are there no women doing this job! It does not take massive muscle power, does it?! The extra pictures show the dredger and its operator at the lock and a family of swans further down the canal doing well.
