Sometimes you just gotta make 'em laugh.

I took the car in to get the alternator looked at, and new thingamibobs put in. Then it turned into a more expensive job because the alternator was stuck behind something else that needed to be removed. And then the alternator was deemed irreparable. And there weren't any second hand ones around. So we sighed and I handed over all my worldly riches. It was't as bad as I was expecting, so that's a bonus, and the mechanic reckons it was due to go at about that mileage, and that it should keep going for a long time yet without any more problems. Ah well. I'll go halves with Mum, so that eases it a bit for both of us.

That said, being Gen Y I think I'm just supposed to respond with 'Meh'. (Without getting political I do think there's more to being 'meh' about democracy than apathy - frustration at the childishness of our politicians probably also contributes. As does the lack of tenacity of the 'I want it now' generation.)
