Lichen

One of my ongoing photographic assignments (unpaid) is to record the renovations at Dunscore Parish Church, a requirement of the Heritage Lottery funding grant. The grant will help to pay for repairs to the leaking roof and the setting up of a community resource , part of which will tell the story of local heroine Jane Haining.
I spent a happy hour photographing the graveyard. A good place for interesting stories and a fair bit of wildlife, too. This is despite there only being one tree and the grass trimmed very short. One table grave was covered with this lichen, which I think is a Claxedonia species, but I'm happy to be corrected by someone who knows better.
