The Entertainer
On the second day of the Victorian Experience at the Steam Railway I thought it would be appropriate to take along the brass Petzval lens to take some portraits.
The lady in white is Fiona Harrison who entertained the audience with several performances of songs of the era dressed in various glamorous costumes.
In the extras are portraits of Isambard Kingdom Brunel, a dapper gent in a grey topper and a roguish character in a cap who happens to be a long standing volunteer of the railway.
The Petzval lens attracted a lot of comment and interest as it is so unlike any modern lens. It renders images in a quite unique way which seemed to suit the subject matter.
