A slice of Lesley's life

Mad dogs and Englishwomen

Not even midday, but by 9.30am I was thinking I had left the dog walk a little late so we stayed close to home. Not sure of the actual temperatures today as Carl keeps muttering about 100 and I don't understand those numbers. But I can assure you it was hot. All day.

The dog is going slightly bananas in Spain. Well alternating between that and collapsing with exhaustion and heat and playing dead for long periods. I think it's a complete sensory overload and the merest sniff of a level of freedom her urban life to date has not prepared her for. She has also been taught how to bark by all the neighbouring dogs in the valley. Actually probably not even neighbouring as sound really carries in the valley. We're hoping by the time she gets back to London she will have forgotten how much fun barking is. And anyway presumably she is learning Spanish barking (guau guau apparently) and so no-one will understand her anyway.

Same old same old for J so this morning we left the kids to their own devices (in both senses) and we headed to town to do some jobs, including a trip to the food market which is amongst my favourite things to do here and generally never fails to make me happy. Today was no exception, only added to by the discovery of dragon fruit. Previously only encountered by us all via the medium of Cabin Pressure so we were very happy. It hasn't been sampled yet so I shall report back on how it went and perhaps blip it tomorrow. If you haven't seen one they are quite an impressive sight.

Other than that just a truly splendid fish BBQ from BBQ de Carlos tonight to report.

Oh and a clarification: I hope I didn't mislead with my Bond reference yesterday and I hate to disappoint but I don't think fourteenth body under a train will quite qualify me for Bond girl status!

As for the picture, this is from our morning walk and is heading along the river bed toward the mountains. A little further along from this and we would have been under the viaduct from a few blips ago.
