Was it 'Ant Day'?

Each year the ants take to the wing on a warm and still August day. Colin has seen them aloft already this month but the gulls above us were definitely feeding on the wing on something this afternoon.

The bloke in the extra came labouring up the hill and laughed at me taking photos of the sky. I tried to explain, 'But its the gulls feeding on the ants...' but he had already passed.

Some of these oldsters have carefully concealed engines on their bikes as they sail up the hill but I think he was all shank's pony.
