T'was a very early start

To cut a long story short JJ didn't look at the alarm clock when it went off this morning and got up an hour earlier than he should have.  He went to pick up his partner but found the gates shut and the curtains drawn, so came home.  I asked him if he knew what time it was so he checked his watch to find it was 6.30 a.m.  "Would you like a cup of tea?" he says.  "No thanks says I, I've already made one, I couldn't sleep".

There was a bonus though.  I got up and went out at 7.30 a.m. and the first thing I saw as I rounded the bend into the parkland was this female Common Blue.  She led me a merry dance but I did get quite a few shots.  The extra is one of her with open wings and I was rather disappointed it wasn't the blue I had been expecting.  Never mind, another day.
