Here we go again!

Galerie Colbert

I worked at the Richelieu site of the Bnf today and took this picture in Galerie Colbert, across the street, on my lunch break. You might want to compare it to Galerie Vivienne that runs more or less parallel to it, the subject of an earlier blip. I am quite partial to these passages couverts, to the point that I considered the name Vivienne for my second daughter (but this was vetoed by J who did find a better name).

Th got back from Budapest late last night. She had a very good time, despite a theft in the hotel on the first night and an heroic effort from her valiant French teacher (whose praises I have sung here before!) who found a second hotel for 51 kids at a moment's notice! She enjoyed Budapest but was mostly glad to have more time to spend with her friends. Sadly, today she had to say goodbye to a very good friend who is returning to Shanghai tomorrow.

Our guest H is doing a great job of finding her way around the city and is continuing to see a lot. We are all enjoying her enthusiasm for Paris. It is such a remarkable city to see for the first time.
