Music in Miniature 1: Lute

I hate computers!

Having found I needed a new monitor (see my
back blipped previous entry), I did the research and discovered that things have moved on since I last had to buy one and now HDMI connections are the way to go. Diving under the desk I verified that my computer had an HDMI connector - hurrah - so reserved one online and picked it up from PC World the next day. So far so good.

It's been downhill from then: I connected the monitor up and found the image didn't fill the screen, and no apparent way to adjust it. A few googles later I found the answer - I needed to adjust something in the graphics card driver. Ok, I fire up the driver application but it doesn't recognise ANY monitors. So google again and decide I need to upgrade the driver. Do that, and now the driver application doesn't even start. Google confirms this is a known issue and there are a number of possible solutions which I start working through. 8 hours or so later (ignoring time out for things like work, sleep and food) it's still not solved. So as I said before I hate computers

Anyway, putting that to one side I started to consider my next photo club theme of Music.

I have just read a magazine with some brilliant examples of collages composed in photoshop. I have a number of musical instruments in my 1/12th scale doll's house collection, so thought that I would give it go. This lute, and it's case, will be the first component - the £2 coin shows the scale.
