Canal Towpath; Roddinglaw (NCR 754)
After work,
After several e mails to the lawyer
After a lunchtime of venting fury to anyone who'd listen
After 90 minutes of weeding at the allotment
After an hour in the Meadows with her, shiraz and camembert.
After chumming her home, bringing the washing in and putting the shopping away.
Only then did I get on the bike and ride west, into the sunset; armed with a vague instruction that somewhere on the canal tow path tween Hermiston and Ratho there was a Cigs to be had.
So dodging, joggers, dog walkers, tokers, smokers, midnight jokers, a climber traversing one of the bridges, a stray rabbit, some ramblers and several million other cyclists, I duly come round a bridge and - bingo! There is was!. White pen on plyboard, dated '14.
So I snapped it and snaffled it. It fitted in my rucksack and like all good Minnesota dentists I'm going to have it stuffed and mounted on my wall so the internet can chastise me.
Pity it wasn't a Banksy....
