A real "Fairy Glen"

After the excesses of the weekend we decided a walk was in order today.

A friend at my camera class had told me about a place where there was a small waterfall in a wooded area not too far from where we live. It is called Fairy Glen....... honestly !!!

Today we decided to go take a look.......it was overcast, a bit humid but we parked up and walked into the woods, a bit muddy underfoot, quite a few ups and downs, wooden steps, bridges all under a green canopy! We found the brook and a small waterfall........not quite what we were expecting, but nonetheless, an enjoyable couple of hours meandering. I don't normally say this, but I do think this shot looks better large!

Once back home, we've done a couple of hours weeding in the garden, hubs picked some tomatoes, runner beans, red currants and a few potatoes for me to take to mum tomorrow. Pilates in the morning, muscle still a bit sore, but I'll just avoid those exercises until it's mended.

We've had a delicious salad, our own lettuces, potatoes, cucumber and tomatoes, with crayfish tails and prawns in a Marie rose type sauce that I concocted, with a squeeze of lime juice for good measure ;-) followed by the last of the homemade gooseberry crumble & custard :-)

Just going to catch up on some TV that we've recorded recently now.....hubs just put a cuppa in front of me too, so that's me signing off. :-)
