The Cascade

I met #3 daughter, Ella and Nathaniel at Alnwick Gardens this morning, plus two nieces and their four children. The weather was unbelievably HOT! (If Blip would let me add another picture it would be Ella applying sunscreen.)

The children had a great time in the water area as always, but poor Nathaniel came a cropper on the concrete steps and got a big bump on the head. He seems none the worse and after a few howls, ran off to play.

it was nice to get home early enough to read my book in the sun. I'm having a rest from the Plantagenets and Tudors with something light but very well-written I think. It's a thriller set in 1953 Russia called Child 44 by Tom Rob Smith. Thank you fellow Blipper for the recommendation. I'm hooked.
