The Grazy, Hazy Days Of Summer.

These are part of a herd of rare Red Poll Steers, a breed of cattle native to East Anglia. The Norfolk cow was crossed with the Suffolk bull. Grazing animals has been part of Midsummer Common since the 12th century, although for some years they were absent. They  moo-ve  onto the common to graze between April 1st and  November 30th  each year. I was watching two of them having a 'head to head' over the same patch of grass. Maybe there was something tasty there. I walked around by the path today instead of crossing the common, as it can be a slow job  trying to avoid the country pancakes .
