Out for a walk

Saturday 1st August 2015 (1070)

Wish all working days were like this. I organised and led a 5 mile group walk today: Lathom - Burscough. It's only the second one we've done and actually it was quite a different group than last time. It was one I had planned back in February

The forecast was mixed but we started with a nice morning. The first stretch along a country lane was lovely. In the second field we hit a problem though, crops and grass had grown considerably since Feb! It was difficult to make our way round the edge of the field and we got very wet through the long grass. We soon dried off though.

After the half way mark things began to change as the small shower of rain quickly turned into rather heavy rain, which didn't stop until just before we reached the car. We hit another problem as well, one path had become so overgrown with grass and brambles that it was impassable, we had to find an alternative.

We arrived back at the car soaking wet but we'd had a good laugh and a good time of fellowship together. Most of us then went for a pub lunch. It was nice to have a hot shower when I got back home.

After today's experience clearly I am going to have to go and check the next walk again even though I thought it was already planned.

I signed up for an online creative Photoshop course last night thanks to a well known voucher company. I got my money's worth enjoying an hour on the first module and I learnt loads. Looking forward to continuing. I only use Elements so some things may not work and I had to do a bit of research to teach myself how to do in Elements what they were doing in the full version, it added to the challenge. I also completed 3 more modules of the Photography course I started last year. Good job there is no time limit! :-)
