Big afternoon in town with the girls, starting off at the National Gallery (ie 'the one on the mound') for their summer kids art programme, Making Faces. Free, drop-in, the staff are all friendly and helpful, there's various activities to do as well as a spot of dressing-up, a bit of a no-brainer - hugely recommended.

Then, after a bit of shopping and the like, it was off to a slightly-in-advance screening of Inside Out for them and a very hard 50 lengths in the pool for me. By the time I'd collected them from the flicks and picked up the Chinese on the way home and then headed out again to drop their pal off afterwards it was nearly ten o'clock and we were all pretty shattered. Nowt for it then but to fall asleep in front of the telly with a solitary Peroni and a solitary episode of Tour De France catch-up. Nearly out of The Pyrenees now, nearly...
