little feet in the house...
It went well today :-)
Little un was spending her first day at our house with just us and no foster carers. It was like the first time you get in a car after passing your driving test and realise that there's no one to advise, to anticipate the problems or to fix the mistakes...
However, she was playing merrily when her foster carer said cheerio this morning... we held our breath... but she was fine... no concern, no tears, all good... Then we were playing outside with bubbles for about half an hour and she took a tumble and grazed her hand... naturally there were tears and it looked rocky for a moment, as cuddles from me weren't helping... but Dave (or Daddy pig as he's now known) proved to be the magic cure... Lunch was a picnic blanket on the floor with finger foods whilst watching monsters inc, and then more playing in the afternoon. She also let me change her nappy, which was a great sign of the developing trust... who would have thought that wiping someone's bum could be such a joy? Before we knew it the day had flown past and the foster carers were back to collect her... kisses and cuddles and a tired but happy looking girl was put in the carseat...
It was probably the first time that we could really see what our little family life will look like, just got to keep it up now... Fingers crossed that tomorrow goes just as well...
