Pictures of Passion for my Passion.

Lake District Day 3 - Aspire Training Day 2!

What. A. Day!!! I know that is how I started my blip yesterday, but man oh man is that how I feel today! But (!) - On a whole new level.

Yesterday was all business, marketing, planning which I do love - I am a very organised person; if it comes in a notebook, spreadsheet, document or app then I am away!

Today though was something else. Today was connecting with what I adore and what I feel I do best, a passion. The course today was taught by Lucy. An experienced portrait photographer with a beautiful portfolio. I could see similarities throughout her set of images compared to mine which was quite interesting to see the differences in which we work. The grounding that Lucy gave us, the planning and the background was all very helpful and nice to have a refresher. I think that I have been doing portrait photography for a long time; that it all made sense, but there may be a few ideas in there to change what I am doing at the moment. The one valid point that has stuck the most - don't rush and slow down on shoots. It is ok to do that!

The morning session was an engagement shoot with two very lovely people - Benn and Luci. They were so in love with each other, so comfortable in each other's presence, but more importantly, blooming great to work with. They were both so relaxed and I thoroughly enjoyed my time with them. Today's blip is of them both and is quite possibly one of my favourite images that I took of them together as they look so together. I really feel that it encompasses them as a couple - isn't that the point in portrait photography?

The afternoon shoot was equally as good but completely different. We had the pleasure of working with a family with two gorgeous girlies. The whole family was great, but it was also good that they were so down to earth too and easy to work with.

A real enjoyable day, which was followed by downloading over 1000 images onto the laptop (I do get carried away!) and then a fab dinner with my new photography friend Jacqui, where we laughed, cried, laughed again that we couldn't breathe and looked at photos. It was the perfect evening!
Tomorrow is more photography in the morning then onto editing in the afternoon. Looking forward to learning more.

I'm going to put lots of pics up from the course this week on my Facebook Page - Stephanie Summers Photography. Come over for a sneak peek into what has been going on this week ?
