Litter from the forest floor

Macro+4 taken on the camera's vivid red setting. I am not sure what they are- seeds from a pine cone? The trees are about 100 years old and stand about 40 metres tall outside a local historic home. Wet from the rain which helped boost the colour. Found something extra on it too- can you see it?
