Burj Khalifa
Two days after climbing what was the tallest building int he world, we went up the current record holder. At 830m this tower is ridiculously tall. It sticks above the Dubai skyline like a needle. We paid about £20 each to go to the observation deck only to find it was barely over half way up. In fact the highest usable floor is at 550m which is still nearly 300m from the top. It is all lies! The spire is made to look like a continuation of the floors. Even the observation deck felt very high though. I wonder how they change the lightbulb at the top of the spire!
After the Burj Khalifa we ventured to the marina and the beach but it was so hot we couldn't spend much time outside. We also took the trip onto he palm island which was interesting. Why anyone would want to spend millions of pounds on a house there is beyond me because it didn't feel particularly nice there. They seemed a little bit crammed in.
