War and Peace

This weekend has brought huge downpours of rain, at least to  S E England:  daughter #2 had the worst of it at the Newmarket Races on Friday (although I gather a good time was still had by all)  and daughter #1 didn't fare that much better at  The War and Peace Revival Show  held in Folkestone today.    She and her bf also managed to have a good time  though and she managed to have her hair done in this rather fabulous 40s style shown in today's blip and my extra shot.  We fared rather better weather wise yesterday when we visited my uncle   in Ipswich, currently recovering in hospital after a stroke.

In other news: when we got in last night we were very sad to hear that Saffie, Mum to our senior cat Lilly, had died unexpectedly that day.  At 17 she had a long and happy life but her family will still miss her terribly.
