New Gate ...

... not really, just painted.

While we were away on holiday last week, Duncan came and painted the gates. The job would have been difficult with Jess & Molly around, because they had to be taken off their hinges and stored in the garage for a couple of days. (As well as painting, some spars of rotting wood needed replacing.)

Here are the gates as they used to be. In particular, we see Jess jumping up and down in excitement. This is exactly how Molly had her incident a couple of weeks ago, when she caught her paw in a gap between two upright spars.

(Although - of course - we did not blip the accident, it is explained here.)

Duncan has also fixed a baton across the top of the gate so that this particular accident should not happen again!
