Thrill Rides
After yesterday's largely educational day, today was all about thrills. We spent the morning at the Alpine Coaster near Oberammergau. It's a mix of toboggan run and gravity fed roller coaster. You travel in self controlled bobsleighs on a railed track over 2.5km long with many twists, rolls and turns. We quickly worked out that you didn't need to brake for the fastest ride! It was great fun, unexpectedly fast but with a calming chair lift ride back up between each run. We all had great fun.
After lunch we took the cable car up Alpspitze to the 'AlpspiX Viewing Platform'. This a viewpoint constructed from a pair of curved metal walkways reaching out 13 metres over the cliff edge. It was spectacular, great views and a stomach turning drop beneath you. The blip is from the top of the cable car looking down on Garmisch, the extra taken from the viewing platform.
Another fabulous day, can't believe it's Saturday already tomorrow.
