Lesser Spotted Woodpecker

Such a lovely surprise, being able to photograph a Lesser Spotted Woodpecker! I hoped we we would see one but you usually just see a flash of black & white and they have a habit of always being on the part of the tree you can't see, but you can hear them pecking away! Always very, very frustrating as they are a stunning bird. It's not a brilliant photograph, but its the best I've been able to capture up until now. I have the Green Woodpecker in my village, this Lesser was at a wood in Hanningfield, Essex.
