An afternoon being holidaymakers in my home town. And it felt just like that - right at home for both of us. 

She's had an epic day today. This morning she learnt her 2, 3, 5 and 10 times tables and worked out her 4, 6 and 7s. At her piano she started her first piece where her left and right hands are doing different things at the same time - a big step as her piano teacher said. Then she learnt to tie her own shoe laces! She insisted on wearing lace up shoes today so she could show grandad. 

We had a picnic lunch in the lounge, including tea from the flask. We had planned to picnic in the park but it clouded over right as we set out. We then headed to Scarborough for an afternoon. We had a walk to the beach, at which point she absolutely, emphatically insisted she WOULD NOT be going in the sea........ I managed just about to not laugh as she said it. Just.
