Warm up

I am in Cincinnati on a business trip, and took my morning walk over the    Roebling Suspension Bridge.  When it opened to traffic in 1867 connecting Covington, Kentucky and Cincinnati, Ohio, its span of 1057 feet was the longest in the world. This was a warm up - John A. Roebling's next project was the Brooklyn Bridge.   Both of these iconic features of our  skyline are National Historic Landmarks.  (There is a scene in Rainman  with the Roebling in the background.)
