Drought

I got the early train(s) down to Milton Keynes; the sky had been heavy and leaden all the way until we got within about an hour of MK when it started raining and didn't stop for the rest of the day. So much so that I saw a message about flooding in the west car park area and gratefully accepted a lift back to the accomodation although I usually enjoy the walk.

This was the only image I got today; it's the view from the window where we were having a meeting all afternoon. The foggy area on the right is just a reflection, but the small rivulet of water coming from the upper floor is real. There are some nice euphorbias for DaveH and beyond the red-hot pokers and yellow archangels lies the newt pond. I imagine the newts were enjoying the weather.

The hosepipe bans imposed back in April in southern England, due the drought conditions, have now been rescinded in some areas. Although not here in MK yet!
