A Grand Bandstand

This rather robust looking bandstand is in Clifton Park, Rotherham. We went there with our granddaughter as we were babysitting all day! It seems to be a nice park, very clean - we even had a team approach as as we had our picnic asking if there was any rubbish they could take away for us! There were plenty of people around, lots of children on school holidays!

This bandstand dates from 1928 - having replaced a world war I tank which stood there for a number of years, which itself replaced the original Victorian structure (which was rather more delicate than this)!

Performers of note (apparently) include Marc Bolan and T-Rex!
